Amazon is looking for a skilled Senior Food Manufacturing Process Engineer Program Manager to spearhead ambitious, cross-functional projects aimed at refining our food manufacturing processes and enhancing operational efficiency. This role uniquely blends extensive process engineering knowledge with strategic program management to introduce transformative innovations within our food manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities: Program Leadership: Oversee the entire lifecycle of complex cross-functional programs significantly impacting food manufacturing operations across multiple locations and teams. Define and manage program strategies, including the mission, vision, and objectives for food manufacturing process enhancements. Lead high-impact initiatives concentrating on optimization, quality enhancement, cost reduction, and capacity improvement. Champions continuous improvement efforts to mitigate operational and ergonomic risks while upholding food safety and quality standards. Contribute to operational narratives and take ownership of organizational goals linked to manufacturing excellence. Process Engineering Excellence: Devise and refine food manufacturing processes ensuring they meet design specifications, reliability standards, and regulatory compliance. Conduct comprehensive process reviews, risk assessments (PFMEA), and provide essential design for manufacturing feedback. Design and validate robust and cost-effective manufacturing processes. Develop and qualify final assembly, testing, and packaging processes. Collaborate with equipment vendors to design efficient manufacturing processes, layouts, and specifications. Identify, address, and resolve technical risks in manufacturing proactively. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, quality assurance, food safety, finance, and external suppliers to define project priorities. Build consensus across varied stakeholder groups to ensure project alignment. Foster high-quality relationships with site and regional leadership, facilitating informed decision-making. Communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes effectively through presentations and reports. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize manufacturing data and metrics to drive process improvements and cost-cutting measures. Regularly analyze performance metrics and enhance data visibility mechanisms. Ensure program alignment with organizational goals through quantifiable metrics. Estimate manufacturing capabilities and assess manufacturing value-add costs. Calculate high-level ROI and coordinate with finance for comprehensive cost-benefit analyses. Quality & Compliance: Guarantee adherence to food safety regulations, HACCP, FSSC22000, and related standards. Lead yield improvement and quality management initiatives. Create tools for ongoing quality monitoring. Conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and lead corrective action preventive action (CAPA) initiatives. Audit manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with global standards and local regulations. Work Environment: This position may entail up to 50% travel to various manufacturing sites. Flexibility to work diverse shifts as needed to support manufacturing operations. Spend significant time on the manufacturing floor, observing processes and engaging with teams. Capability to work in food manufacturing environments (temperature-controlled production areas). Basic Qualifications: 6+ years of program or project management experience. Proficient in leveraging data and metrics to drive operational improvements. Experience in owning program strategy and communicating results to senior management. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar technical field. 6+ years of program management or process engineering experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or equivalent sectors. 5+ years leading complex, cross-functional programs across various locations. Familiar with food manufacturing processes, including dairy, meat proteins, plant-based proteins, beverages, prepared meals, and bakery products. Proven track record in process optimization, equipment qualification, and capacity planning. Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Experienced in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Able to influence senior stakeholders and build consensus across organizations. Strong analytical abilities with a knack for interpreting and communicating data-driven insights. Skilled in technical documentation and presenting to senior leadership. Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of supply chain management concepts like forecasting, planning, sourcing, and logistics. Master's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or relevant field. Professional certifications (PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing). HACCP certification or Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification. Experience with contract manufacturing and vendor management. Familiarity with BRC, SQF, or FSSC22000 quality management systems. Exposure to manufacturing automation and Industry 4.0 technologies. Demonstrated success in achieving measurable cost savings and operational efficiency improvements. Experience managing teams and developing engineering talent. Knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES). Background in high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environments. The base salary range for this position is as follows: 115,600.00 - 160,000.00 USD annually. Total compensation will include sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and location.
