Job Description Position Summary The role of Senior Product Manager for the Construction Industry involves leading the definition, creation, and delivery of pivotal construction capabilities within the NetSuite ERP platform. This position emphasizes execution and product delivery to ensure NetSuite effectively serves the accounting, financial management, and compliance needs of construction firms such as general contractors, subcontractors, and builders. As a key player, you will transform construction industry requirements into detailed product specifications and collaborate closely with Engineering to deploy impactful features that enhance NetSuite's standing in the Construction sector. Success will be evaluated based on the timely delivery of construction features, user adoption of new functionalities, product quality, and contribution to competitive achievements. Core Responsibilities Product Definition & Execution Develop comprehensive product requirements for construction-related features within NetSuite ERP. Convert contractor and builder accounting workflows into concise functional specifications. Create Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, and validation plans. Work closely with Engineering throughout the design, construction, testing, and release phases. Prioritize initiatives within the roadmap to align with the strategic focus of the vertical. Construction Accounting & Financial Features Define and roll out functionalities covering: Job costing and cost tracking by project phase. Work-in-progress (WIP) reporting. Percentage-of-completion revenue recognition. AIA progress billing and retention management. Change order tracking and financial impact assessments. Subcontractor management and pay applications. Project budgeting and cost forecasting. Allocation of equipment and indirect costs. Multi-project and multi-entity reporting. Compliance and audit-supporting controls. Ensure solutions are scalable and compatible with NetSuite's financial architecture. Industry Compliance & Controls Assist in enhancements related to: ASC 606 construction revenue recognition. WIP schedules and variance analysis. Audit-ready financial reporting. Bonding and surety reporting support. Validate requirements against actual construction accounting practices. Customer & Partner Engagement Collaborate with construction customers and implementation partners to gather insights and confirm product designs. Support Sales and Customer Success teams with product expertise during strategic engagements. Establish feedback mechanisms to continually enhance delivered capabilities. System & Ecosystem Awareness Recognize integration requirements with construction project management tools (e.g., Procore). Determine when enhancements should be developed internally versus integrated. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. 6-10 years of experience in product management, ERP systems, or systems specific to the construction industry. Deep comprehension of construction accounting principles and contractor financial workflows. Demonstrated experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and project-based financial management. ERP product experience is mandatory; NetSuite experience is highly preferred. Proficiency in drafting detailed functional requirements and driving execution in partnership with Engineering. Strong analytical and communication capabilities. Desired (but Not Essential) Familiarity with construction ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct Construction, Viewpoint). Experience working with Procore or comparable construction project management software. Background engaging with general contractors or specialty trade organizations. MBA or equivalent advanced business education. The salary range for this position in the US is from $74,700 to $178,100 per annum, with eligibility for bonuses and equity considerations.
