Apply today and grow your career with us! Summary/Objective The primary function of this role is to provide exceptional private duty nursing care to pediatric patients in their homes. You will coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, the patient and their family, as well as the referring agency. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse with pediatric home health expertise who is willing to travel and confidently initiate care in the patient's home under the supervision of a registered nurse. Key Responsibilities: Assist the RN in identifying physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs of the patient. Plan and implement care in collaboration with the RN according to the Plan of Care (POC). Employ infection control measures to protect both staff and patients. Ensure continuity of care through quality patient services. Communicate effectively with patients, families, team members, and healthcare professionals. Complete timely documentation and monitor assigned cases for compliance with payer requirements. Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and competency, promoting agency policies to ensure quality of care. Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate from an accredited school of vocational nursing. Current Texas license as an LVN or RN, or multi-state license issued by a state in the National Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Current driver's license. Minimum one year of experience as an LVN or RN in a pediatric clinical care setting; home health experience is preferred. Work Environment: You will work in different patients' homes under varying conditions, with some exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and local travel, with some exposure to unpleasant weather. Physical/Mental Demands: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Work effectively under stress to meet deadlines and patient needs. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Quickly adapt to new patients and changes in care circumstances. Ability to educate caregivers and team members effectively. Strong communication skills are necessary for interaction with families and healthcare teams. Position Type/Hours: Hours and shifts will vary based on patient needs. Flexibility to fill shifts as needed is essential. Travel Requirements: This position requires significant local travel and flexible staffing locations.
