School Credentialed Registered Nurse

The Certified School Nurse (CSN) identifies and treats health conditions among students in the school setting. The CSN provides instruction for the student's general wellbeing and disease prevention. The Certified School Nurse must assess the student's physical condition in the school setting and refer the student to appropriate resources as needed to be successful in school.Minimum Requirements: Current nursing license for the state in which the nurse practices Certification or Credential in school nursing, required One year prior school nursing experience required Pediatric experience, preferred Current CPR if applicable TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Must be at least 18 years of age
