Under general supervision of the department chair, successful candidates will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses (if applicable) and advising students. In addition to preparing for and holding classes, teaching involves maintaining currency in the content area related to the teaching assignment, evaluating students' work, assessing student outcomes, providing regular and substantive feedback on student work, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active, on-going program of scholarship appropriate to their discipline. In addition, faculty provide service to the department, college, university, community and/or professional organizations. Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean. The College of Business Administration (CBA) at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse includes six academic departments and the Small Business Development Center. The CBA has over 3,000 students enrolled in one of the eight majors offered. It also offers seven minors and participates in the UW System's online MBA consortium. Fully accredited by AACSB International, the CBA is recognized for high-quality faculty, staff, programs, and students, and maintains strong regional and global partnerships. A robust Assurance of Learning program regularly evaluates undergraduate and graduate outcomes, supporting accountability and continuous improvement. Key Job Responsibilities: May supervise student employees involved in development or delivery of instruction Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including assessment of student performance Contributes to the strategic development of curriculum and academic content through various mediums to ensure the integrity of the educational mission of the work unit Advises students on academic and career direction within a specific field of study Contributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentations Develops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction Collaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline Department: Finance Required Qualifications: Master's Degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department, or significant progress toward a doctorate degree, or, in rare circumstances, post-baccalaureate certification or licensure, or a baccalaureate plus experience, can be established as appropriate qualifications for the teaching position. Evidence of the ability to be an effective instructor. Evidence of clear and effective communication skills.
