NDDOT Hiring Salary: $7,060 / monthPrimary duties of this position include: Project Management Lead and supervise large, complex infrastructure projects and multiple smaller construction initiatives, ensuring effective execution from start to finish. Coordinate daily construction activities with contractors, consultants, district staff, and the public to maintain a professional and productive work environment. Ensure all work complies with approved plans, specifications, DOT policies, and quality standards, including materials approval and inspection oversight. Manage project documentation and reporting, including change orders, pay estimates, inspection reports, compliance documentation, and final project records using systems such as CARS. Identify and resolve project issues, make field design decisions, negotiate change orders, and provide direct supervision to assigned personnel throughout the project lifecycle Plan Design and Preparation Develop comprehensive project plans from concept through final PS&E, including specifications, layouts, traffic control, quantities, and cost estimates. Ensure compliance with department standards, policies, environmental regulations, and permitting requirements through coordination with NDDOT and other state agencies. Review existing conditions, survey data, and project documentation to support environmental documentation (CatEx/ECL) and overall design accuracy. District Management Coordinate and supervise technicians, establish short- and long-term goals, and manage seasonal staffing assignments. Mentor, train, and evaluate construction staff, including conducting performance reviews and recommending professional development. Assist with project staffing, equipment allocation, and stay current on construction practices, procedures, materials, and technology. Oversee Inspection and Testing of Construction Materials Direct supervision of sampling, testing, and surveying on major projects. Ensure materials meet plan and specification requirements. Schedule and Assign staff to conduct testing for construction projects. Document all test results as required. Minimum Qualifications Two-year associate degree in engineering or a related field and five years of related highway/transportation construction and engineering experience, OR seven years of related highway/transportation construction and engineering experience. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field may substitute for the required work experience .
