Java Developer/Fullstack/React Lead Location: Austin, TX or Charlotte, NC Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced QE Tools & AI Automation Leader to drive the strategy, design, and delivery of scalable quality engineering platforms across the full software development lifecycle. This role is not a traditional SDET position. It requires enterprise-level ownership of QE tooling, AI-driven test innovation, CI/CD quality integration, and governance across distributed cloud-native systems. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering depth (Java, microservices, cloud, DevOps) with hands-on AI/ML testing innovation and organizational leadership in quality engineering transformation. Key Responsibilities QE Strategy & Platform Ownership Lead the strategy, architecture, and implementation of scalable QE tools and automation platforms. Establish enterprise-wide QE standards, governance, and best practices. Design reusable, extensible test frameworks across: UI API Mobile Backend Distributed systems Build cloud-ready, DevOps-aligned QE tooling supporting microservices and containerized architectures. AI / ML Enabled Testing Drive adoption of AI/ML-enabled testing solutions including: Intelligent test case generation Self-healing automation Risk-based test prioritization Leverage Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) for: Automated test authoring Synthetic test data creation Defect clustering and root cause analysis Productivity acceleration Design secure integration layers for LLM-powered test frameworks. Apply prompt engineering best practices and response validation for reliable AI outputs. Automation Framework Architecture Architect and maintain robust automation frameworks using Java and modern testing libraries. Build reusable testing utilities and SDKs. Ensure frameworks support distributed, event-driven systems (Kafka, messaging, async flows). Enable API contract validation, schema testing, and resiliency validation. CI/CD & DevOps Integration Integrate QE tools into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality validation. Implement automated quality gates, code coverage enforcement, and regression validation. Support containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/AKS/GKE). Enable shift-left practices and continuous testing in microservices environments. Cloud & Distributed Systems Alignment Design QE strategies for cloud-native systems deployed on AWS/Azure/GCP. Support observability-driven testing using logs, metrics, and traces. Build quality dashboards and predictive metrics for: Release risk Defect trends Stability forecasts Support event-driven and streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS). Leadership & Innovation Mentor QE tools engineers and promote AI-first quality culture. Evaluate emerging AI testing technologies. Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps to embed quality-first principles. Drive innovation in AI-driven quality transformation initiatives.
