Testing Lead BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Testing Lead Position Title: Workday Functional Testing Lead Location: Chicago, IL - Onsite Anticipated Start Date: ASAP Expected Duration: 6 months with possibilities for extension Pay rate: $40 to 42/hr Job Type: Contract: 40 hrs/week Job description:Key ResponsibilitiesContract Testing Leadership Design and implement contract testing strategies for microservices using Rest Assured framework Establish consumer-driven contract testing practices across development teams API Test Automation Architect and develop comprehensive API test automation frameworks using Rest Assured Build reusable test libraries and utilities for REST API validation Implement data-driven and behavior-driven testing approaches Create automated test suites for functional, integration, and contract testing Technical Architecture Serve as technical architect for test automation strategy and tooling decisions Integrate contract and API tests into CI/CD pipelines Design test data management and environment configuration strategies Quality Engineering Collaborate with development teams to shift testing left in the development lifecycle Identify and implement testing best practices and design patterns Conduct code reviews for test automation code Troubleshoot complex integration and API issues Collaboration Document testing frameworks, standards, and best practices Partner with architects and developers on API design and testability Required QualificationsTechnical Skills 7+ years of experience in software quality engineering and test automation Expert-level proficiency with Rest Assured framework for API testing Strong experience implementing contract testing using Pact, Spring Cloud Contract, Rest Assured or similar tools Deep understanding of RESTful API design principles and HTTP protocols Proficiency in Java or other JVM languages Experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, etc.) Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, and API schema validation Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) Experience with version control systems (Git) Microservices & Architecture Proven experience testing microservices architectures Understanding of service-oriented architecture and distributed systems Knowledge of API versioning and backward compatibility strategies Testing Expertise Strong foundation in testing methodologies and quality assurance principles Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) Knowledge of performance and security testing for APIs is a plus Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of asynchronous messaging contract testing Contributions to open-source testing projects Experience with observability and monitoring tools Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration Self-motivated with ability to work independently Passion for quality and continuous improvement Ability to mentor and influence without direct authority Interested candidates please send resume in Word format Please reference job code 250500 when responding to this ad.
