Procurement Specialist

Position Summary: Our company seeks a skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage all procurement activities related to the warehousing and fulfillment operations. This includes sourcing, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services to support our operational needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist and implement procurement strategies to support the warehousing and fulfillment operations. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish relationships to ensure competitive pricing and quality products/services. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements. Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance and receipt of goods/services. Monitor supplier performance, address any issues or concerns, and implement corrective actions as needed. Conduct regular supplier assessments and performance reviews to drive continuous improvement. Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to optimize procurement processes and identify cost-saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Prepare and present reports, metrics, and analysis related to procurement activities. Required Qualifications: Associate degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. 3+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within the warehousing and fulfillment industry. Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and techniques. Proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software/systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Physical Demands: Primarily a sedentary role with the need to occasionally lift and move files, boxes, or materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Regularly required to sit, stand, and work on a computer for extended periods. Work Environment: Primarily an office environment with occasional visits to vendor sites or company warehouse facilities. May experience occasional interruptions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting. Travel Requirements: Limited travel may be required for vendor site visits, trade shows, or industry events. Equipment Used: Procurement and ERP software for managing purchasing activities. Standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, and printers. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to junior team members or procurement interns as needed.
