Join our dynamic team as a Transportation Electrical Cost Estimator, where your expertise will impact projects ranging from $5M to $10B across a variety of sectors including heavy civil, highway, bridge, transit, rail, airports, and urban development. In this role, you will evaluate design documents, proposals, specifications, and drawings, participating in design development meetings to understand the cost and risk implications essential for creating accurate estimates. As part of a knowledgeable and collaborative team, you'll prepare estimates by: Reviewing and comprehending scope documents. Developing project work breakdown structures. Calculating complete scope of work take-offs. Assisting contracts staff with statements of work for subcontractors and vendors. Applying construction means and methods effectively. Calculating indirect field and owner's costs. Meeting tight deadlines with accuracy. Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed capital cost estimates for transportation/transit projects. Assess contractor proposals for various procurement methods. Review and validate change orders efficiently. Engage with external clients to present capital cost estimates. Maintain organized documentation, project records, and logs. Participate in project meetings as necessary. Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated success in cost estimating for transportation projects. Proficient in MS Office, HCSS (HeavyBid), and BlueBeam. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. 10-15 years of estimating and construction experience with heavy civil projects. Experience in alternative delivery procurement methods. Deep understanding of the interconnections between cost, risk, and schedule. Certifications such as CEP, CCP, PMP, or CCM are advantageous.
