Senior Construction Claims Specialist

You will oversee a varied caseload from assignment to resolution, receiving support from your team manager and claims executives. Your key responsibilities will include: Managing litigated claims of moderate to high exposure and complexity across various coverage types, such as general liability and excess. Conducting in-depth policy interpretation and thorough coverage analysis. Assessing exposure levels and maintaining relationships with attorneys and vendors. Collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including underwriters, customers, and brokers. Negotiating resolutions and ensuring clear communication throughout the claims lifecycle. Please note that some travel (5-10%) may be necessary. This position is available in our Schaumburg, Parsippany, or New York, NY offices. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of experience in Claims or Litigation Management, or a Juris Doctor with 2+ years in the field. Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 6+ years of experience, or completion of the Zurich Claims Training Program with 5+ years of relevant experience. High School Diploma with 8+ years of experience in Claims or Litigation Management. Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s). Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong understanding of insurance regulations, markets, and products. Preferred Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) 5+ years in claims handling or insurance defense, specifically in Construction Defect cases. Exceptional negotiation skills and strong analytical abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt within a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and effective time management. A collaborative mindset with experience in cross-functional teamwork. Comprehensive knowledge of the insurance industry, claims processes, and relevant legal frameworks. At Zurich, your compensation reflects your role, location, skills, and experience. The salary range for this position is $83,400.00 - $155,200.00, and you will be eligible for a 15% short-term incentive bonus.
