Job Description Job Description: The Collections Bankruptcy Specialist is responsible for the timely processing of bankruptcy work items received via case, email, paper mail, or report. Requires acute attention to detail, time management skills, and concise and accurate communication with peers, customers, attorneys, vendors, and internal partners. Position requires the ability to conduct research with potential outbound calls or emails to various parties. Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to; 1. monitoring accounts after bankruptcy filing, from notification through resolution; 2. documenting all appropriate and relevant information pertaining to the bankruptcy filing within the portfolio and collection systems; 3. coordinating and communicating with attorney network, Office of General Counsel, and other vendors on account status and changes; 4. monitoring General Suspense to ensure timely and accurate posting of funds; 5. providing support and assistance to customers, vendor partners, and attorneys throughout the bankruptcy process via phone and email. This includes accepting voluntary payments over the phone; 7. receiving and sorting all incoming paper mail; and 7. ensuring all actions comply with federal/state bankruptcy laws and regulations and company policy.
