Shifts are 4x10 hours, days; weekends, holidays, on call/callback per unit needs. On-call responsibilities are 1-2 times per week and include 1-2 weekends of call per month. Preference will be given to candidates with interventional radiology experience. The unit typically trains Radiologic Technologists coming from other modalities for up to six months when starting in neuro IR. Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic quality. Works cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve problems expediently. Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when dealing with customers. Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity for patient rights in all interfaces with patients. Administers oral contrast as needed per exam. Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations and assists the Radiologist during procedures. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in operation of all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems. Reports equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead. Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner and uses time between procedures to assist others, perform clerical duties, stock, and transport as needed. Understands the role in maintaining medication security for authorized personnel only. Demonstrates competency in providing health care services in the job category to all age groups. Demonstrates competency in interpersonal relationships to all age groups. Demonstrates competency in the use of Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS. Participates in hospital performance improvement activities when warranted. Demonstrates confidentiality using personal passwords and all patient care modules. Answers telephone inquiries of a technical nature from physicians or hospital personnel while maintaining good phone etiquette.
