Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of a Physician.Requisition ID:44041BRTravel Required:Up to 25%Major/Essential Functions: Provides quality patient care in relation to the patient's prescribed diagnosis, treatment, age group, development and other identified needs. See patients in the clinics assigned and report findings and test results to attending physician; including genetic testing. Documents in EMR for billing and coding and ensures billing compliance Assesses health status by performing the medical history, physical examination and psychosocial assessment Reviews the finding of the history and physical, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data, plan for further diagnosis and therapeutic management as outlined in collaboration with the attending physician Schedules consultations, diagnostic tests or procedures, future appointments for patients in coordination with the attending physician. Provide onsite consults at UMC as needed Provides health education to the patient and his/her family Participates in formal and informal instruction of nursing students, medical students, residents, professional nurses, and other health professionals Contributes to research efforts of department/section by: (1) identifying clinical problems amenable to research methods, and (2) collaborating in research projects. Applies pertinent research to clinical practice Provides prenatal and postnatal care including, but not limited to, maternal/fetal health. Collaborates with other health care providers for management and referral of high risk pregnancies Performs a variety of gynecological services, including annual well-woman exams, pap tests, and testing for sexually transmitted infections Provides contraceptive counseling and management, treatment for vaginal infections and sexually transmitted infections, as well as pregnancy testing, options, counseling and preconception counseling Orders and interprets diagnostic and anatomical tests Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.
