Assistant Project Manager AC/MC-130 Navigation & Mission Systems Study Location: Niceville, FL (Eglin AFB Area) Company: IS4S Position Overview IS4S is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support execution of a critical AC/MC-130 navigation and mission systems study supporting AFSOC and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center stakeholders. This role is ideal for a transitioning military officer with deep operational experience on AC/MC-130 platforms who is ready to apply knowledge & experience to acquisition, engineering integration, and program execution. The APM will serve as a bridge between operators, engineers, and government program offices to ensure technical solutions remain operationally relevant, executable, and aligned with mission needs. Key Responsibilities Support the Project Manager in planning, executing, and tracking all aspects of the AC/MC-130 study contract. Provide leadership and guidance to IS4S study team Translate operational requirements into clear technical and programmatic inputs for engineering teams. Coordinate with: AFSOC operators and staff AFLCMC program offices Prime contractors and mission system integrators Assist in development of: Briefings for government stakeholders Risk registers and mitigation strategies Integrated master schedules Decision-support products Provide operator-informed assessment of: Navigation system integration impacts Mission computer and avionics architecture changes Crew workload considerations Support preparation for technical interchange meetings, SRR/PDR/CDR events, and program reviews. Support capture/proposal content, basis-of-estimate inputs, and design concept definitions associated with a potential integration and modification phase Track action items and ensure timely closure across cross-functional teams. Contribute to identification and management of technical, schedule, and programmatic risk. Desired Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree U.S. citizen with ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance 15+ years of experience in military aviation, preferably AC/MC-130 platforms Direct operational experience in mission execution, crew coordination, and tactical employment Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to operate in both government and contractor environments Highly Desired AC-130 or MC-130 crewmember experience Experience working with: AFSOC AFLCMC Mission planning systems Navigation systems (EGI/GPS/INS) DT/OT processes and requirements Prior exposure to acquisition, requirements development, or test events Experience participating in cross-functional technical reviews Transitioning military officer participating in SkillBridge or recently separated Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate: Understands AC/MC-130 operations from firsthand experience Can speak the language of operators and engineers Brings credibility in discussions about mission impact Is comfortable briefing senior leaders Wants to grow into a full Project Manager role within 1-3 years Growth Opportunity This role is structured as a developmental pathway to Project Manager.
