Lead Laundry Maintenance Technician Location: Queens & Bronx, NY (must be able to travel between both sites) Salary: $75K-$90K (flexible based on experience) About Our Client Our client operates multiple high-volume commercial laundry and linen service facilities throughout the NYC area. Their operations depend on the reliability, efficiency, and performance of industrial laundry equipment, supported by an experienced and skilled maintenance team. Position Summary The Lead Laundry Maintenance Technician is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing commercial laundry equipment while managing and coordinating a team of maintenance technicians across multiple locations. This individual will lead daily maintenance operations, build and manage repair schedules, track productivity, and report performance metrics to leadership. This role requires strong technical expertise in commercial washers and dryers, proven experience leading maintenance teams, and bilingual Spanish/English fluency to effectively communicate with staff. Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Repair Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on commercial and industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, presses, and related systems. Ensure equipment uptime and preventative maintenance schedules are followed to minimize downtime. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and oversee timely resolution. Team Leadership & Scheduling Lead, manage, and support a team of laundry maintenance technicians across Queens and Bronx locations. Develop, assign, and manage daily and weekly repair and preventative maintenance schedules. Coordinate technician workloads based on operational priorities and equipment needs. Provide guidance, training, and hands-on support to technicians as needed. Operations & Reporting Track technician productivity, work orders, and equipment performance metrics. Report maintenance activity, productivity, and equipment issues to leadership on a regular basis. Identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce repair costs. Compliance & Safety Ensure all maintenance work complies with company standards, safety regulations, and OSHA requirements. Promote safe work practices and proper use of tools and equipment. Maintain organized maintenance records and documentation. Cross-Location Support Travel between Queens and Bronx facilities as required to support operations. Ensure consistent maintenance standards and communication across both locations. Required Qualifications Bilingual: English & Spanish (required). Proven experience as a Laundry Maintenance Technician working with commercial or industrial washers and dryers. Demonstrated experience leading, supervising, or managing maintenance teams. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance practices. Ability to create, manage, and execute maintenance schedules. Comfortable tracking and reporting productivity and performance metrics to leadership.
