Our Emergency Department (ED) is among the busiest in Connecticut, treating high-acuity patients in our 108 licensed beds and an additional 19-bed ED Observation Unit. At HHED, we care for an average of 108,000 patients each year, collaborating closely with 7 Medicine inpatient units to ensure a seamless continuum of care. About the RN Bridge Program We are excited to offer a Medicine-to-ED Bridge Program designed for nurses interested in transitioning to the Emergency Department. This unique opportunity allows you to build your foundational nursing skills and knowledge within our Medicine units before making the transition to the ED. Work with managers from both units to create a personalized development plan. Participate in collaborative coaching sessions at regular intervals throughout the program. Receive mentorship from experienced RNs from both Medicine and ED. Complete a transitional orientation to care for inpatients in the Emergency Department. Be evaluated at each step to determine readiness for full transition to the ED. Job Summary As a registered nurse, you will work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside a skilled interdisciplinary team. Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, you will apply evidence-based practices to develop comprehensive care plans that address the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of our patients and their families. Qualifications Current Connecticut RN License required prior to start date. Graduate of an accredited nursing school ADN/ASN or BSN preferred. BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
