Data Analyst GIS

Title: Data Analyst GIS Location: Birmingham, AL - 4 DAYS ONSITE Work Schedule Duration: 12 month contract Key Responsibilities 3-5 years in data analytics or business intelligence working with large, complex datasets. Experience supporting enterprise reporting, dashboards, and analytics products. Ability to troubleshoot data quality, ingestion, and pipeline issues. GeoSpatial OR GeoPandas Experience Experience with Power BI, PySpark/Python, geospatial/raster datasets (e.g., GeoTIFFs), statistical concepts, multithreading, ETL/ELT, and Git. Data Modeling & Transformation: Prepare analysis-ready datasets; write production-ready code with error handling. SQL: Strong in joins, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization; writes maintainable, reusable SQL. Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure Synapse, or similar; understands ingestion, storage, and transformation. Data Quality: Identify discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes. Analytics & Visualization: Understand performance impacts of data structures; experience with Python plotting libraries and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
