Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join a vibrant birthing center team in the Midwest region. This role involves providing comprehensive care throughout prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, ensuring a safe and positive experience for mothers and their newborns. Key Responsibilities: Deliver holistic nursing care to expectant mothers during all stages of childbirth. Monitor vital signs and fetal heart tones to safeguard maternal and newborn health. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans. Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum processes to support informed choices. Assist with deliveries, offering both emotional and physical support to mothers. Administer medications and treatments following safety protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in compliance with regulatory standards. Recognize abnormal labor conditions promptly and act according to established protocols. Perform vaginal exams accurately, notify physicians at appropriate times, and interpret fetal monitor tracings. Education and Certification: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Registered Nurse licensure valid for practice in the relevant state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per American Heart Association standards. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within one year of hire. Experience and Training: Completion of birthing center orientation under supervision, including vaginal labor/delivery, cesarean sections, postpartum, and newborn care. Mandatory Reporter course completion at or within six months of hire. Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements. Compliance: Commitment to uphold compliance programs, including codes of conduct and policies related to professional responsibilities, with participation in ongoing education and training.
