Location: 2060 Upton Dr. Virginia Beach, VA (On-Site) Reports to: Hospice House Administrator FLSA: Hourly (Non-exempt) Schedule: PRN - All Shifts Available (Day-Time: 7AM-7PM & Night-Time: 7PM-7AM, with rotating weekends) About Us Founded in 1982, Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is a not-for-profit, faith-based Life Plan Community. The Dozoretz Hospice House of Hampton Roads is a nonprofit organization that provides compassionate respite and end-of-life care for those on hospice services in a peaceful and homelike environment. We offer expert care and emotional support for patients and their families during one of life's most challenging times. Featuring twelve private suites and peaceful shared spaces, our dedicated hospice house offers a comforting environment where families can cherish meaningful moments together. To learn more: Dozoretz Hospice House As a Certified Nursing Assistant-CNA (Hospice House), you will play a vital role in providing care and support to patients during their end-of-life journey. What You'll Do In This Role Assist patients with daily activities, mobility, and personal care. Monitor and record vital signs as part of the care plan. Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families. Ensure a clean and safe environment in compliance with infection control protocols. Assist with meal preparation and serving, adhering to safety and hygiene standards. Communicate patient needs and changes to the healthcare team. Core Competencies Supportive (to both patients and nursing staff) Compassionate Comfortable with taking directive Emotional resilience Professional & ethical Physical Requirements Ability to assist with patient transfers and mobility (up to 100 lbs with assistance) The Experience You'll BringRequired Current CNA license in the State of Virginia (unencumbered) CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire) Willingness to complete a food sanitation course after hire Flu-Vaccinated Preferred Hands -on clinical experience preferred COVID-19 Vaccinated. As of now, the 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccine formulation is being distributed to providers and pharmacies; however, it has not yet received official approval from the CDC. In Virginia, pharmacists may administer COVID-19 vaccines under the Virginia Board of Pharmacy's statewide protocols or with a direct order from a licensed medical provider. We encourage all new hires to consult with their healthcare provider regarding the most current vaccination recommendations. Please be aware that, depending on future CDC guidance or regulatory updates, we may require proof of the most recent COVID-19 vaccination as part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety.
