Your responsibilities will include managing the technical aspects of customer systems, ensuring solution uptime, availability, and policy development, as well as troubleshooting issues. You will play a crucial role in the technical development of various security solutions, including Proofpoint Protection Server, TAP, TRAP, and other Proofpoint products. In this role, you will serve as an escalation point for team members and provide mentorship while helping to streamline service delivery across business units. Engaging in the maintenance of our ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) is vital, involving participation in annual training and openness to spot checks to continually improve our ISMS and ensure careful handling of customer data. Duties & Essential Job Functions: Act as an escalation point for other engineers on the team. Enhance security policies against emerging threats in alignment with best practices. Create and develop custom solutions for managed security systems. Maximize system uptime and performance. Utilize internal CRM for problem tracking and project management. Assist the team in meeting customer SLAs. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with strong analytical skills. Keep informed on industry trends, security news, and best practices. Participate in on-call rotations as required. Resolve client issues quickly and effectively while ensuring high customer satisfaction. Lead technical discussions with customers and partner organizations. Research industry trends and vulnerabilities to communicate risks and devise mitigation solutions. Administer and support lab environments, reviewing and approving change requests. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (experience may substitute for education). Experience with Email Security. Background in corporate networking, technical support, system administration, with exposure to Windows, Unix/Linux, and network security. Proficiency with Proofpoint email security products, including certification and training. Experience in designing and implementing Proofpoint solutions. Strong critical thinking skills to manage customer expectations in high-pressure scenarios. Proficient in technical writing and effective communication. Ability to troubleshoot client issues with determination and patience. Collaborative team player with clients and colleagues. Interest in mentoring junior engineers. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to present solutions clearly. Exceptional time-management abilities. Preferred: Experience with Proofpoint email security products - PoD/TAP/TRAP. Expertise in information or network security. SQL or Oracle database familiarity. Knowledge of regular expressions. Scripting skills in Perl, Python, Java, or Bash. Proofpoint product certifications.
