We are looking for a passionate and innovative National BRT & Complete Streets Design Leader to spearhead the delivery of impactful multimodal corridor programs across the country. This role offers you the chance to set national design standards, mentor future leaders, and drive the successful execution of complex Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Complete Streets projects from initial concept through to final design. This position is vital for enhancing our national transit and urban mobility capabilities, improving design consistency, and supporting an expanding portfolio of corridor design initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Lead Complex Corridor Designs: Manage the technical delivery of full-corridor BRT and multimodal design projects. Design both center-running and curbside BRT stations while ensuring seamless integration with civil, traffic, ITS, and urban design. Set National Design Standards: Develop and maintain standardized design approaches for BRT and Complete Streets programs, including creating typical sections, standards, and technical playbooks. Ensure high quality in plans, specifications, and design decisions. Integrate Complete Streets Principles: Incorporate bike facilities, pedestrian safety, ADA considerations, and multimodal safety enhancements into all corridor designs to support vibrant urban spaces. Enhance Technical Excellence: Develop and lead QA/QC review processes to apply comprehensive design reviews across multiple programs, documenting and justifying design exceptions where necessary. Utilize Advanced Tools: Use Civil 3D corridor modeling and other advanced tools for optimal design modeling and visualization to communicate design impacts effectively. Strategize and Strengthen Market Position: Serve as the technical authority during proposal interviews, contribute to capture strategies and proposal narratives for transit and multimodal projects. Mentor Future Leaders: Support the professional growth of emerging Project Technical Leaders and corridor task leads, strengthening collaboration within our teams. Qualifications: Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline with a Professional Engineer (PE) license. At least 10 years of relevant experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required as needed. Preferred: Proven experience in BRT and Complete Streets design, managing multi-discipline teams, and driving projects through final design (PS&E). Proficiency in Civil 3D and strong communication skills are essential. Location: This position can be based in any of our U.S. offices, with a preference for Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, or Nashville, TN.
