Pay and Schedule Details Touring Driver Pay: Starting at $1,800/week with potential earnings up to $2,500/week based on responsibility. Regional Freight Pay: Average $1,475/week when running mileage-based routes between tours. Important Note: All drivers will begin in Averitt's regional division for the first 30 days; touring assignments and salary-based pay begin after transfer approval. Tour Season: March - October. Tours run for weeks at a time with limited home time, unless routes are near your home base. Off-Season: November - February. Drivers typically handle regional, no-touch freight for consistent income. Your Responsibilities Transport staging, lighting, and production gear for major live events. Assist with loading/unloading and secure equipment using straps and load bars. Safely navigate tight or unconventional venue locations. Drive primarily at night to meet strict delivery schedules. Driver Highlights Expect to drive overnight frequently to meet event deadlines. Commit to completing full tours or production runs once assigned. Routes will cover the U.S. and Canada (passport required; Averitt will reimburse if needed). Requirements: A minimum of 30 days of driving experience with Averitt before transitioning to Production and Event operations. Must be 21 years of age or older. Possess a Class A CDL with a willingness to obtain a Hazmat endorsement. Flatbed certification required (training provided). Valid passport for tours in Canada (Averitt reimburses if needed). One year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years. Entertainment/touring driving experience preferred but not essential. No reckless driving convictions in the past 5 years. No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 5 years. No suspensions or revocations for moving violations in the last 5 years. No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph over speed limit, following too closely, improper passing, etc.). No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years. No preventable DOT recordable accidents in the past 3 years. Operative Functions Include: Drive safely and responsibly. Open and close trailer doors (force requirement: 46 lbs). Count and manage freight. Document fuel transactions. Hook and unhook trailers (force requirement: 90 lbs). Conduct pre-trip inspections. Ability to travel extensively and maintain an upright seating position for long periods. Move freight as needed (force requirement: 54 lbs). Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Enter and exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle as required. Access the rear of a trailer from ground level.
