Armed Security Officer - Secret Clearance Required

Position Summary: This is an armed security officer position under the supervision of a site manager, focusing on high-profile security operations. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and reporting on activities at designated locations, ensuring the safety of property, visitors, and staff. As an armed officer, you will need to respond to emergency situations by utilizing appropriate levels of force, including armed intervention. You will help maintain order and ensure adherence to site regulations regarding personnel and premises, manage access control, and monitor entrances to prevent unauthorized entry. Various tasks may include conducting foot or vehicle patrols, identifying safety hazards, securing evidence in case of incidents, and generating reports as needed. Candidates should be prepared to handle potentially stressful situations. Due to the sensitive nature of this role, candidates must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. Essential Functions: Perform a variety of security-related duties as assigned, which could change based on operational needs. Respond to inquiries and provide direction to visitors and staff. Process visitor access by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and keeping records in visitor logs or databases. Detect and report any criminal activities, ensuring proper screening of packages and visitors. Prevent unauthorized access to the facility and detain individuals as necessary. Utilize security equipment effectively which may include batons, OC spray, X-ray machines, and CCTV footage. Minimum Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship preferred Must possess a valid Social Security Card issued by the SSA Minimum age of 21 years High school diploma or equivalent certifications recognized by the U.S. Department of Education Fluency in English, with the ability to read, write, and understand communications At least two years of experience in armed security or military service (active duty or reserve) within the last five years Pass a medical exam, drug test, and any relevant physical agility assessments Complete required training and pass examinations for certification Ability to obtain Government Secret Clearance Licenses or Certification: Driver's license Social Security card or birth certificate Any other relevant certifications including guard/clearance permits, gun permits, OC permits, and First Aid/CPR certifications Working Conditions: Work is performed in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to emergency situations. Shift work is required. Ability to remain on post for up to four consecutive hours without breaks. Must be prepared for prolonged periods of walking, standing, sitting, and other physical activities, sometimes up to 12 hours a day. Wage and Benefits: Wage range for this position is $16.20 - $41.70, with Health and Welfare benefits between $4.00 and $6.25 where applicable. Additional compensation of $1.00 - $3.00 may be available for positions requiring Secret or Top-Secret clearance; shift differentials may apply. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401k plans, with paid leave ranging from 80 to 240 hours annually based on tenure, plus a minimum of 56 hours of sick leave for full-time employees.
