Your Next Opportunity We are seeking a Substation Protection & Control Design Engineer to join our worldclass engineering team. In this role, you'll work on new substation designs and apply your deep technical expertise to develop detailed protection and control drawings-including metering and relaying single lines, threeline diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, RTU diagrams, and SCADA interfaces. This is an opportunity to contribute to highimpact utility and transmission projects while collaborating with some of the most talented engineers in the industry. What You'll Do Apply knowledge of substation protection and control schemes-overcurrent, distance, differential, breaker failure, voltage/frequency, transformer, reclosing, communicationbased protection, synchronization, and more. Develop protection and control oneline diagrams and relaying panel bills of materials with minimal supervision. Create and manage drawings including: Metering and relaying single lines AC/DC schematics Wiring diagrams Panel elevations and layouts Cable schedules Pointtopoint wiring Panel fabrication details RTU and communications wiring Breaker and LTC control schematics SCADA control/alarm interfaces Trip circuit supervision Scheme 1 / Scheme 2 separation Support projects involving transmission line panel replacements, bus reconfigurations, and sectionalizing stations. Work on retrofit projects, including the conversion of electromechanical relays to microprocessorbased systems. Perform CAD design and drafting using AutoCAD or MicroStation. Review vendor equipment drawings, design specs, and control cabinet layouts. Support development of protection and control panel bill of materials. Apply knowledge of various transmission bus arrangements. What You'll Need to Be Successful Experience with design development stages (30%, 60%, 90%, asbuilts) and associated deliverables. Strong understanding of industry standards, symbols, and construction notes. Experience reviewing manufacturer drawings (transformers, breakers, junction boxes, etc.). Handson expertise developing complete P&C drawing packages (single lines, threelines, schematics, wiring, RTU diagrams, communication diagrams). Experience in retrofit and modernization projects, including relay upgrades. Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation. Familiarity with transmissionlevel substation configurations. What You Bring to Us B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. 6+ years of experience in protection and control design for transmission, distribution, substation, or industrial power systems. Travel Up to 25% Working Conditions Primarily office-based with periods of sitting, walking, typing, bending, and carrying. Occasional exposure to jobsite conditions and moderate noise levels. ADAcompliant environment with reasonable accommodations available. Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
