Sr OpenShift Architect TX/Dallas, No travel for now, but he/she needs to be flexible to at least 10-20%. It is at least 3 days a week and if needed 100% onsite. Contractor Qualifying Questions Are you proficient in Linus OS (Suse, Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)? Do you have a strong knowledge of Pacemaker, Corosync, and resource agents? Do you have experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services (EC2, S3, VPC, etc.)? Are you familiar with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet? Do you have Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages? Do you have knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies? Has candidate done complete end-to-end deployment of OCI; rather, it's a part of the Project RedHat/OpenShift. The Senior OpenShift Architect is responsible for the end to end architecture, design, implementation, and governance of Red Hat OpenShift platforms across hybrid and multi cloud ecosystems. This role provides technical leadership, ensures enterprise grade availability and performance, and drives modernization initiatives using cloud native and containerization best practices. The Senior Architect collaborates with engineering, DevOps, cloud, cybersecurity, and application teams to deliver scalable and secure OpenShift solutions that support strategic business goals. Required Skills & Experience • 12 + years of experience in AWS and Linux / DevOps roles, preferred to be principal consultant on AWS ROSA, OpenShift Virtualization on ROSA with experience on OpenShift/Kubernetes administration. • Expertise with Red Hat OpenShift 4.x including Operators, Machine Sets, Cluster Operators, and API objects. • Hands on experience with Hybrid cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Container platforms (OpenShift) Infrastructure as Code automation. • Strong scripting abilities (Bash, Python, Ansible). • Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, load balancing, and container orchestration. • Experience implementing enterprise security and compliance frameworks. • 6+ years of experience in architecting and administering Kubernetes/OpenShift environments, AWS ROSA Environments. • Expert-level knowledge of OpenShift 4.x platform components, Operators, Machine Sets, cluster APIs, and CRDs. • Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, Gitlab, GitHub patterns, automation, and Infrastructure as Code. • Deep technical expertise in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Ingress, Load Balancers), distributed systems, and security. • Experience on observability tools and having knowledge on AI integration would be an added advantage. • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (Bash, Python, Ansible, PowerShell). Platform Architecture & Engineering • Architect/Design, implement, and optimize enterprise OpenShift clusters across on prem, public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), or hybrid environments. • Expertise on OpenShift Virtualization on ROSA Migration from On-Prem (VMWare, Hypervisor) • AWS ROSA Designing, Implementation and experience is must for the requirement. • Evaluate and implement Operators, Cluster Operators, and custom resource definitions (CRDs) to enhance platform capabilities. • Drive OpenShift version upgrades, cluster expansions, infrastructure migrations, and lifecycle planning. • Define cluster topology, networking model, operators' strategy, storage integrations, HA/DR patterns, and scalability frameworks. • Lead the platform roadmap, versioning strategy, and long-term architectural vision for container platforms. • Create and enforce resource optimization strategies, autoscaling, quotas, limits, and performance tuning. • Experience in configuring RBAC models, and cluster policies with troubleshooting knowledge on Network, orchestration and containers. • Security, Compliance & Governance experience to Implement enterprise-grade security configurations on OpenShift virtualization, ROSA and Container Environment • Establish governance frameworks for namespaces, cluster roles, multiteam usage, and audit/logging compliance.
