Algorithm Systems Engineer

An employer is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer. You will be responsible for developing and implementing system updates that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team. The successful candidate will perform most typical Agile Product Owner responsibilities for the a Threat State Algorithms and Analysis team, making sure that developed features and related sprint stories contain the appropriate closure criteria and that they meet those criteria prior to be closed. To fulfill this role, the candidate will lead and perform technical tasks to support the development and evaluation of Algorithmic candidates addressing new capabilities in the tactical product. This engineer/analyst will help ensure algorithmic design has been properly evaluated prior to implementation in the tactical product. General understanding of any, or all, of the following algorithm domains: track processing, track reporting, discrimination, propagation, and 6d covariance propagation/ prediction High proficiency in technical problem solving and integrating solutions into a larger system Knowledge of MATLAB, Python or similar engineering tools used in prototyping algorithms Experience reading and understanding the Ada programming language Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel Extensive background in Ballistic Missile Defense, midcourse missile defense, battle management, threat state processing, weapon target assignment Nice to Have Skills & Experience Current/Active Top Secret Clearance Recent experience applying advanced mathematical concepts (Numerical Analysis, Linear Algebra, Probability/Statistics) to complex problems and solutions Recent and extensive experience developing analysis tools in MATLAB and PYTHON High comfort level with the ADA programming language Successful performance of root cause analysis of large complex software systems High Comfort level using the Atlassian toolset (Jira/Confluence) Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
