Job Description

Wine importer company based in Richmond is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for all aspects of warehouse operations, productivity and efficiency. These duties include inventory management and controls, receiving and distribution, maintenance and organization, vehicles and equipment, safety, staff management, cost controls and coordination with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. Warehouse: Supervision of all daily warehouse operations Responsible for safety policies, practices and adherence in the warehouse Ensure warehouse remains clean and free of debris and/or safety hazards Reporting of damages or required repairs in the warehouse Ensure company trucks are serviced, in good working order and kept clean Ensure warehouse mechanical equipment (forklift, electric pallet jack) is kept in good working order Ensure equipment/supplies are stocked and in good condition (ladders, pallet jacks, carts, gloves, etc) Scheduling and supervision of driver loads, routes and delivery schedules Oversight of order prep for drivers' daily routes Inventory control and organization on-site Coordination and inventory oversight of off-site location Transfer of inventory between sites Oversee Organic Inventory Warehouse space and required compliance Receipt, verification and processing of incoming container shipments Perform spot check inventories Perform 2 full inventories per year on site Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move, organize and store inventory Back up delivery driver if needed Administrative: Communication and coordination with Admin and Sales staff Coordinate with office staff on inventory reports and purchasing feedback Oversee all paperwork between warehouse, drivers and office is processed accurately and promptly Ensure accuracy of paperwork for order prep/delivery by drivers Keep updated logs and documentation for inventory processing OSHA and DOS compliance and record keeping including required postings Creation and maintenance of company IIPP, OSHA Manual and safety program Creation and maintenance of SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) Implement ongoing Safety Training Program and record keeping / documentation system Fleet maintenance program and record keeping system Maintain Warehouse google drive record keeping system Miscellaneous reports as needed Management: Manage Warehouse team of 3 drivers and a Warehouse Assistant Management of staff resources: schedules, hours, time off Monitoring and approval of warehouse staff timesheets and expenses Provide driver/staff training, including proper use of equipment, driving and safety and warehouse safety Corrective and/or disciplinary action if required for warehouse staff Cost control for warehouse supplies, equipment, maintenance and repairs Weekly meetings with General Manager to provide progress reports and discuss any pending issues Core Skills: Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to communicate via text, email and phone efficiently with management team, other departments and service providers. Technology: Ability to work with company software, excel and various types of reports. Creativity: Ability to assess current operations and develop concepts and plans to improve efficiency and processes. Leadership: Desire to create a positive team environment, motivate staff and lead by example. Problem Solving: Ability to independently assess and solve a problem. Foresight into potential problems and initiative in seeking resolution. Follow through on closure. Requirements and Qualifications: Warehouse Logistics and Management Experience - 5 years minimum required Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices Experience with OSHA and DOS warehouse safety and operations requirements Previous experience in Alcoholic Beverage Industry a plus! Experience with Encompass or similar beverage supply chain software Google Suite, Excel and Microsoft experience Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds or more Able to work in a fast-paced environment Able to work independently Teamwork, accountability, and respectful communication across all levels of the organization Resumes will only be considered for those who meet all of the requirements as listed.
