Position Summary This role is responsible for applying knowledge of engineering theory, manufacturing methods and problem-solving techniques to improve operating equipment performance and related processes. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering departments to improve safety, quality, productivity, and reduce costs. Duties and ResponsibilitiesPartner with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to identify and implement long-term improvements that enhance safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost control. Lead and perform advanced preventative and predictive maintenance programs for machinery, equipment, and plant systems; ensure documentation and follow-up on identified trends. Conduct root cause failure analysis on recurring or complex equipment issues and develop permanent corrective actions, including design modifications or process adjustments. Plan and execute major equipment overhauls, rebuilds, and system upgrades to extend asset life and minimize downtime. Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting, mentoring shift technicians on advanced diagnostic and repair methods. Oversee and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, and company safety requirements during all maintenance activities. Maintain and improve 5S/housekeeping standards in maintenance areas and across the plant. Apply expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems (A/C, D/C), PLCs, and automation controls; provide advanced-level repair and integration support. Perform complex hydraulic and electrical repairs including system rebuilds, wiring, motor controls, sensors, and power distribution systems. Support facility-level infrastructure projects, including utilities, HVAC, compressed air, water, and plumbing systems, ensuring reliable plant operation. Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and OEMs for specialized repairs, installations, and technical projects. Recommend and implement improvements to preventive maintenance schedules, spare parts inventory, and reliability-centered maintenance strategies. Qualifications Two or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common instructions/blueprints. Experience in electricity (A/C, D/C) and wiring a plus. Experience with CMMS Maintimizer Systems a plus. Collaborative Must possess strong safety work ethics. Demonstrated success working in and/or leading cross functional teams. Proven history of driving significant efficiency improvements and cost reduction efforts. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with opposing opinions and capable of leading team towards best outcome. Thorough knowledge of problem-solving techniques, brainstorming, kaizen events, value stream mapping, focusing on win-win solutions. Creative problem solver with high degree of analytical skills. Passionate about continuous improvement and teamwork. Well organized self-starter skilled in time management. Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics. Experience working with programmable logic controller (PLC), control logic and human machine interface (HMI) is beneficial. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and computer aided design (CAD). Excellent oral and written communication skills.
