This role will serve as a critical technical liaison between APL and Raytheon Tucson, focusing on missile development and deployment programs, particularly in Air Warfare, Area Defense, and advanced weapon concepts. As a Missile Technical Representative, your responsibilities will include: Staying in close communication with APL missile program management and technical leads regarding various RTX missile programs like RAM, ESSM, and Standard Missile. You will act as a vital conduit for resolving technical issues related to software/firmware, aerodynamics, GNC, thermal, structures, electrical, and RF engineering. You will also participate in key contractor team meetings and program reviews while directly engaging with RTX management and technical staff. Reporting findings to APL management will ensure that APL's expertise contributes to program success. (65%) Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of APL's capabilities and the status of missile-related tasks and technology development efforts for Navy weapon programs, through discussions and facility visits. (10%) Ensuring efficient data exchange between RTX and APL using various approved platforms for hardware/software and technical assessments. (10%) Maintaining communication with the local PEO IWS Navy Techrep Office, providing support as needed, and coordinating with relevant APL program offices. (10%) Coordinating visits to the APL Field Office in Tucson for short-term visitors from APL/Government, ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place. Minimum Qualifications: BS in engineering, physics, mathematics, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience in missile systems engineering or related fields, especially with Navy-related tasks. Proven organizational and planning skills with a successful track record in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Ability to understand the contractor/government landscape and operate as a trusted agent within it. Capacity to work independently and proactively. Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: MS in engineering, physics, mathematics, or equivalent. Knowledge in various missile disciplines including software/firmware development, aerodynamics, seekers, guidance, control, and manufacturing. Experience with SM-2 or SM-6 missile systems. Program management experience and familiarity with the Defense Acquisition process. Understanding of PEO IWS, MDA, and RTX operations. Current Top Secret clearance or higher. Special Requirements: This position is based in the greater Tucson, Arizona area and requires occasional travel to the APL Howard County campus and the greater DC area, as well as local travel to other Raytheon facilities and Navy Laboratories.
