Electrophysiology Lab Registered Nurse

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse will administer medication to perform moderate sedation; participate in diagnostic and treatment procedures in SUNY Upstate Electrophysiology Lab. Responsibilities in this role will include but not limited to: Documenting activities of patient care and testing. Assist physicians in testing and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias in the Electrophysiology lab. Communicate results of testing to cardiologist/electrophysiologist, nursing and case managers. Continuing education research and patient teaching. RN will also participate in patient care and unit activities of HVC departments of Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab and ECHO Lab. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent, NYS RN licensure (or eligible) with a minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Care nursing experience (preferably in an ICU/critical care setting). Certification in CPR/BLS required at time of appointment. Must be able to handle physical aspects of patient care such as moving patients and equipment as well as participate in rotating on-call schedule.
