Role Overview Pearson Virtual Schools (PVS) is on the lookout for a passionate and result-oriented Product Manager dedicated to enhancing the School Experience. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative products aimed at streamlining workflows for school administrators and teachers within our virtual school ecosystem. PVS operates in a unique, digital-first instructional landscape, and your focus will be to create efficient, intuitive, and consistent products that significantly reduce administrative burdens while maximizing instructional time. Your work will include continuous discovery, user-centered problem solving, and demonstrating measurable improvements in teacher efficiency and student engagement across our Connections Academy and partner school programs. What You'll Do Conduct user research (interviews, workflow studies, prototype testing) involving PVS teachers, school administrators, families, and support staff to gather valuable insights. Translate research findings into clear problem definitions and product requirements that align with PVS's instructional models and operational processes. Support the creation of an outcome-driven roadmap aimed at improving teacher workflows, data visibility, and high-value instructional interactions. Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Research, School Operations, Curriculum, and Academic Programs to deliver top-quality features that meet PVS school needs. Engage in experimentation and usability testing, iterating based on data derived from PVS platforms and user feedback. Facilitate interoperability and integration across PVS systems, adhering to 1EdTech standards. Ensure that all solutions align with PVS's priorities: engagement, teacher retention, instructional effectiveness, scalable operations, and responsible AI usage. Key Relationships Internal: Engage with teams in Product Management, Engineering, IT Operations, Customer Success, School Services, Marketing, Training & GTM, Data & Analytics, and Security. External: Foster relationships with School Leaders, Administrators, Technology Coordinators, and Vendors/Partners. What We're Looking For A minimum of 4 years of experience in Product Management or a related role. Proven experience in conducting user research and leveraging insights for impactful product decision-making. Familiarity with teacher workflows, virtual school environments, or operational efficiency tools is essential. Exposure to 1EdTech standards (LTI, OneRoster) or similar frameworks is advantageous. Exceptional communication, analytical, and collaborative skills, especially in cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience within virtual schools, online learning programs, or similar environments. Knowledge of LMS ecosystems, student information systems (SIS), and classroom management workflows. Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, analytics platforms, and design tools like Figma, Mural, etc. Core Competencies Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving User-Centered Design & Discovery Cross-Functional Collaboration Data-Informed Decision Making Effective Communication & Stakeholder Management Adaptability & Continuous Improvement Mindset Understanding of education compliance, privacy, and security requirements (e.g., FERPA, COPPA). Compensation at Pearson is influenced by factors including skill set, experience, and location. The full-time salary range for this role is US$79,800 - US$130,000 annually.
