ASCP Registered Echo Technician (RDCS | RVT)

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as a skilled Echo/Vascular Sonographer. This role involves providing expert diagnostic patient care through ultrasound and related procedures, focusing on cardiac and vascular imaging. You will apply your sonographic expertise to perform clinical assessments, analyze sonograms, and communicate findings effectively to physicians. Key Responsibilities: Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, contrast agent administration, and safe patient handling to ensure a secure environment. Conduct diagnostic sonography exams using cognitive skills to adapt procedures based on anatomical and pathological information. Maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies, ensuring proper function and cleanliness. Participate in quality assurance and laboratory accreditation processes to uphold high standards. Provide compassionate care, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout procedures. Education: Graduation from a Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer program is required. Candidates must be eligible to sit for the RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) and/or RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) credentials or an equivalent cardiovascular certification. Experience: At least one year of experience in adult cardiac or vascular sonography is necessary to excel in this position. Certifications & Licenses: Must hold or obtain RDCS and/or RVT certification through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers within 18 months of hire. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is also required. Physical & Mental Requirements: The role demands frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 150 lbs, along with activities such as pushing, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
