The Application Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and optimizing enterprise-level software applications, ensuring their performance, availability, and reliability throughout the organization. You will provide essential technical troubleshooting, system integration, and user support, acting as a bridge between IT, vendors, and business teams. Deliver exceptional support for core business applications, ensuring they are always accessible and performing optimally. Diagnose, analyze, and resolve application incidents by identifying root causes and implementing effective, long-term solutions. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for the applications you support, offering hands-on technical assistance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate effectively with development, infrastructure, helpdesk, and vendor teams to implement application enhancements, upgrades, and patches. Continuously monitor application performance and availability. Document processes thoroughly, creating and maintaining knowledge base articles, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), support runbooks, and system configurations. Participate actively in deployment activities, change management, and release processes. Engage in incident response efforts and participate in post-incident reviews for ongoing improvement. Identify automation opportunities to enhance efficiency in support processes. Provide training and support to users during onboarding, upgrades, or transitions of applications. Fulfill any other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and ethical behavior when managing sensitive and confidential information. Exceptional problem-solving and documentation skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint Administration. Good understanding of enterprise application environments, both web-based and client/server. Experience with IIS and SQL-based systems (SQL Server) troubleshooting and support. Knowledge of ITIL-based support processes and ticketing systems, such as InvGate or Jira. Solid grasp of Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, and application integrations. Familiarity with Endpoint Management tools like ManageEngine Endpoint Central and Intune. Strong understanding of email troubleshooting in Microsoft 365 environments. Basic knowledge of certificate management and security protocols. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience with at least 5 years in application support. Experience in financial services or regulated industries is a plus. Hands-on experience with Windows Update processes and IIS. Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash is preferred. Experience collaborating with third-party vendors for application support and maintenance is advantageous. Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NIST, etc.) is preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for eight (8) hours a day. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in person and electronically. Ability to lift and maneuver up to 20 lbs.
