Site Safety Officer

Seeking an experienced Site-Specific Safety Manager to lead safety oversight for a large, multi-year construction project. This role ensures strict adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations and enforces project-specific safety standards. The position requires strong field presence, proactive risk mitigation, and collaboration with contractors and project teams to maintain a zero-incident environment. Responsibilities Enforce compliance with the site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and safety policies. Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NC OSHA, and applicable safety regulations. Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and workforce training sessions. Investigate incidents/near-misses and implement corrective actions. Maintain safety logs, permits, inspection reports, and training records. Review subcontractor safety programs and verify compliance. Serve as on-site safety authority and coordinate risk mitigation strategies. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in EHS or 5+ years of construction safety experience on large commercial projects. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required. CHST, ASP, or CSP (or ability to obtain within 6 months). Strong knowledge of federal/state safety regulations. Proven leadership, documentation, and decision-making skills.
