Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties to ensure the safe and efficient operation of building systems, production equipment, and facility grounds. This individual must have a strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to develop skills in machine operation and maintenance. This role also supports company events, safety programs, and compliance initiatives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned based on business needs. Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on machinery, forklifts, hand tools, air compressors, dryers, foaming machines, molding equipment, lighting, HVAC systems, and other production support systems. Serve as on-call support for facility or equipment issues during off-hours. Execute and maintain the preventative maintenance (PM) program, ensuring timely completion of all scheduled tasks. Conduct and document safety inspections (e.g., fire extinguishers, exit signs, sprinklers), initiating repairs as needed. Actively participate as a key member of the Safety Committee. Coordinate logistics and setup for trade show displays, including door stands, site setup/teardown, trucking, rigging, and carpentry. Manage hazardous waste disposal processes in compliance with regulations. Support compliance and regulatory program coordination (e.g., OSHA, environmental, safety audits). Assist with office-related maintenance tasks and special requests. Coordinate company meetings and events, including room setup and refreshments. Perform seasonal and routine exterior groundskeeping duties. Work collaboratively with engineers on new prototype doors, including manufacturing parts, developing tools, fixtures, and templates. Support facility security, including after-hours call-ins and coordination with the security provider. Provide assistance in manufacturing as needed (assembly, machining, welding). Safety & Cleanliness: Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment; follows all safety protocols. Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or technical school training in maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of hands-on maintenance and equipment repair experience required. Desire to learn and grow into machine operation and equipment-specific maintenance responsibilities. Technical Skills: Proficient with basic MIG welding, plumbing, and electrical repairs. Experience with plasma and oxy-acetylene cutting is a plus. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings. Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers), and electrical testing devices. Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook, is helpful. Ability to complete electronic PM tracking and safety documentation. Certifications & Licenses: Forklift certification and scissor lift experience required. OSHA 10/30-hour training preferred. Valid driver's license required. Language & Math Skills: Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions. Able to write simple reports and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors. Able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of fractions and decimals). Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and crawl in tight spaces. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to use hands and arms to handle, feel, and operate equipment and tools. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
