JOB TITLE: Data Analyst (Quantitative) REPORTS TO: Director of Data Science & Analytics EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time/Exempt/Hybrid STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with Experience JOB SUMMARY: The Data Analyst serves as a senior technical contributor within the Data Team, supporting BHN's outcomes tracking, operational reporting, and program evaluation efforts. This role requires advanced proficiency with relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, and the ability to design, query, and maintain data structures within FAMCare, BHN's enterprise outcomes reporting system. The analyst will lead the development of reporting pipelines, build and maintain dashboards, support internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to the design of data collection tools using HTML and JavaScript. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, technical work within a mission-driven environment. The role focuses heavily on SQL-based reporting, data validation, form development, and maintaining the integrity of BHN's FAMCare data ecosystem. While the role includes analytical reporting, it is not primarily a research-oriented or exploratory data science position. Candidates who thrive in systems-focused, detail-oriented, operational analytics roles will find this work rewarding. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Data Analysis & Reporting Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to BHN leadership, program staff, and external stakeholders. Produce monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports using SQL, R, and data visualization tools. Develop and maintain dashboards that track key program metrics and support data-driven decision-making. Conduct advanced data cleaning, validation, and reconciliation within BHN's SQL Server-based data environment. Database & Systems Work Query, manage, andoptimizedata withinFAMCare, including writing efficient SQL for reporting, validation, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with the Director of Data Science & Analytics to design and implement enhancements to FAMCare data structures, workflows, and metadata. Develop and maintain front-end data collection forms using HTML and JavaScript, ensuring alignment with downstream reporting and governance standards. Technical Support & Stakeholder Engagement Provide technical, analytical, and educational support to internal staff and external providers to ensure accurate and complete data entry. Offer guidance on data quality issues, workflow improvements, and system usage to support programmatic goals and positive client outcomes. Create briefs, summaries, and data-driven materials that communicate key behavioral health insights to stakeholders. Communication & Knowledge Products Assist in the development of brochures, marketing materials, and newsletters that highlight program progress and outcomes. Translate complex analytic findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences. Qualification, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements Required Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. 3-5 years of experience as a data analyst or in a related analytical role. Strong proficiency with relational databases; experience with Microsoft SQL Server is required. Demonstrated ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries. Experience with HTML and JavaScript for form development or data collection interfaces. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently on complex analytical tasks. Strong customer service sensibility and ability to support diverse stakeholders. Preferred Experience with R for data analysis and reporting; candidates with Python experience and willingness to learn R are welcome. Experience working with outcomes tracking, case management systems, or behavioral health/social services data. Master's degree in a related field.
