Role: Cloud DevOps Architect Location: Dallas, TX/ Atlanta, GA Type: Long Term Contract Job Details This role focuses on maintaining and supporting an enterprise governance/ workflow platform, ensuring compliance with security standards through regular upgrades and patches. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying Java modules for workflow processes; managing application containers on RedHat OpenShift within Azure; and automating Azure infrastructure with Terraform. The position also involves integrating with other enterprise systems, setting up and optimizing monitoring solutions (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager), troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring high application performance and reliability. Candidates should have experience in Java development, containerization (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes), Azure cloud management, Linux administration (preferably RedHat/CentOS), infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipeline management with Azure DevOps and Git, and advanced monitoring. Additional skills in scripting, security best practices, and enterprise integration are highly valued. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and external vendors is essential. Job Description Provide ongoing maintenance and support for the platform and its associated products. Perform upgrades and apply patches to the application, RedHat OpenShift, and the underlying cloud infrastructure, ensuring adherence to company security and compliance guidelines. Design, build, test, and deploy Java modules (JAR files) utilized in workflow approval processes. Deploy, configure, and administer containerized applications on RedHat OpenShift running on the Azure Cloud Platform. Use Terraform to design, implement, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure as code. Work with cross-functional teams to integrate the platform with other enterprise systems. Set up, maintain, and fine-tune monitoring and alerting systems using Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, and Alert Manager. Continuously monitor, analyze, and enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of applications. Diagnose and fix technical issues across Java stacks, OpenShift containers, and Azure infrastructure. Manage source code repositories with Git, oversee Git runners for CI/CD, and build automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps. Keep thorough documentation of system design, configurations, deployments, and monitoring procedures. Ensure that security, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices are consistently followed. Coordinate with external vendor support teams when necessary. Required Qualifications At least 5 years of IT experience. Minimum of 3 years developing Java applications, including experience with building and packaging JAR files. Over 3 years working with RedHat OpenShift and Linux systems. Expertise in containerization and orchestration using RedHat OpenShift. Proven ability to deploy and manage applications on RedHat OpenShift. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Azure, covering virtual machines, networking, resource management, and Azure Monitor. Hands-on experience with Java development, Linux administration (preferably RedHat/ CentOS), Docker/ Kubernetes/OpenShift, and Azure DevOps. Hands-on experience with managing and administering DB2 databases. Skilled in managing code with Git, using Git runners, and building CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps. Proficiency in setting up and managing Prometheus, Grafana, and Alert Manager for monitoring. Additional Qualifications Relevant certification or substantial hands-on experience with governance/workflow platforms. Strong skills in analysis, problem-solving, and communication. Practical experience using Terraform for Azure infrastructure deployment and management. Deep knowledge of security best practices for both cloud and containerized environments. Understanding compliance and security in cloud settings. Scripting abilities in Bash, Python, or similar languages. Experience integrating enterprise systems via APIs, messaging, or related technologies.
