Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00 Listed wages are based on company-wide ranges. Actual earnings will vary based on factors such as: restaurant brand, experience, education, geography, applicable minimum wage, unit volume(s), hours worked & potential overtime pay. Position Purpose: As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in leading your team during assigned shifts, driving sales and profit goals, ensuring guests have an exceptional experience, and adhering to company standards and policies. Placement in the Organization: Reports to the General Manager. Responsibilities/Duties/Activities: Oversee restaurant operations to ensure alignment with El Pollo Loco procedures and standards during your shift. Make sure all menu items are prepared and presented correctly in a clean and safe environment. Implement QSC standards and cost controls through effective management of your shift. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations throughout your shift. Assist in the rollout of new products, programs, and procedures in coordination with the General Manager. Train and develop employees, following development plans set by the General Manager. Open and close the restaurant following El Pollo Loco procedures and standards. Address customer complaints promptly and effectively, guiding employees to provide excellent service. Manage vendor orders and address any delivery issues under the direction of the General Manager. Participate in the recruitment process and recommend candidates for hiring. Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as conducting inventory and managing schedules. Engage in local store marketing initiatives and catering opportunities as directed by the General Manager. Supervise safety and security protocols to ensure a safe environment for employees and guests. Conduct employee meetings as needed and report on workforce issues to management. Implement necessary corrective actions, including disciplinary procedures, as needed. Maintain personnel records and ensure adherence to timekeeping procedures. Account for all company funds during shifts, ensuring compliance with cash handling and security measures. High school diploma or equivalent required. Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English. Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle. Familiarity with health and food handling regulations as per state or local laws. Basic computer and math skills are essential. Minimum one year of experience in the hospitality industry or three months as an El Pollo Loco Shift Leader. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for prolonged periods. Exposure to varying temperatures, including heat and cold. Requires mobility and flexibility in the restaurant space. Capability to work irregular hours and manage stress during busy periods. Frequent bending, reaching, walking, and communication with guests. Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
