Salary: AGCEP Hourly Rate Bargaining Unit (click here for contracts): AGCEPReport Times: 8:30 to 12:30 Daily Hours: 4 Paid Work Year: Summer 2026 Supervisor: Director of School Safety and SecurityCivil Service Title: Security Worker Minimum Requirements: Internal Candidates Only Current status as a Security Worker; Must hold current registration as Security Guard with New York State Department of State. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK THE ENTIRE SUMMER SESSION; Dates: July 9 (7-hr day for staff only) July 13-August 17(RSS/CRSS Classes) No Classes on Friday 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7, 8/14 August 18-August 19 (Regents Exams) Desired Qualifications: Must be able to operate metal detectors and baggage scanning devises; CPR/AED certification or willingness to be certified; Previous work experience with students K12; Ability to work with groups of students, staff and public; Willingness to work additional hours as needed; Willingness to work an alternate work day schedule as required to support the educational program needs. Position Summary/Responsibilities: Provides security for the school building and enforces security and smoking regulations; Works collaboratively with other safety team members to take action on the discipline and behavior problems of students within the school building; Builds relationships with students to facilitate student academic and social success; Works collaboratively with other security staff to quickly resolve any problems involving student safety; Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
