As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a mission-driven Assistant Director of Financial Aid - Health Professions to support our Catholic Franciscan identity by assisting students and families with financial aid processes, ensuring compliance with federal and institutional regulations, and managing financial aid functions for students in health professions programs. This position awards, packages, and administers financial aid to new, continuing, and transfer students, while providing high-quality service and contributing to departmental goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Actively engage Marian University's Catholic Franciscan mission and identity, modeling Franciscan Sponsorship Values in all interactions and activities. Financial Aid Administration: Manage a financial aid caseload for health professions students, including counseling students and families, performing federal need analysis, verifying applications, and awarding and packaging aid. Counsel students and families on financial aid options, eligibility requirements, and financing strategies. Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of all graduate and professional student financial aid throughout the academic year. Perform R2T4 (Return of Title IV Funds) calculations in compliance with federal regulations. Manage budget adjustments, student appeals, and satisfactory academic progress (SAP) processes. Compliance & Policy: Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations, best practices, and reporting requirements. Assist in the creation, revision, and documentation of financial aid policies and procedures. Coordinate responses to financial aid inquiries via email, telephone, and in person. Outreach & Education: Conduct financial literacy and debt management education through seminars, workshops, and one-on-one sessions. Represent the Office of Financial Aid at recruitment events, orientations, and campus programming. Systems & Reporting: Utilize financial aid management systems to award and track aid, monitor compliance, and generate reports. Collaborate with other departments (Admissions, Registrar, Business Office) to support enrollment and retention goals. Other Duties: Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned. Required Qualifications: Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in higher education, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in financial aid in higher education. Experience with financial aid management systems and federal aid processing preferred. Knowledge & Skills Thorough knowledge of federal Title IV regulations and financial aid best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including complex calculations, data interpretation, and compliance evaluation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a service-oriented approach. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial aid systems.
