More information: Van Driver ( CNA ) Job Summary: The Transportation Aide ( CNA ) is to provide safe transport of patients, personal effects,requisitions, specimens, charts, and miscellaneous items and assist withpatient transport activities as required. Van Driver ( CNA ) Major Duties and Critical Tasks: The Transportation Aide isresponsible for transporting patients and/or specimens upon request Transports patients usingwheelchairs and with stretcher transports Transports specimens to thelaboratory, and delivers blood and blood products in a timely manner Picks up slides forphysicians to review from laboratory as requested Obtains supplies fromcentral supply as requested Participates/uses theautomated systems in a timely and accurate manner to assist with patientthroughout Identifies the needs of thepatient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific tothose needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired,etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/orprimary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy,etc.) Assists with environmentalduties in departments or units including pick up and disposal ofrecycling/trash receptacles; also linen removal from laundry bins to properdisposal area such as chutes for collection as requested Adheres to the standardsidentified in the facility's Organizational Competencies Van Driver ( CNA ) Required Education andExperience: Driver must be a minimum of 21 years of age to drive Must have active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License and license must be maintained as a condition of employment Acceptable history of safe driving as noted through a 3-year driving record check Stretcher experience is required for this position
