Position: Construction Project Manager Company: AIM Consulting Services Salary: $140,000 per year Industry: Construction Management / Educational Facilities / Public Sector Location: Los Angeles, CA Job Overview AIM Consulting Services is hiring a Construction Project Manager to take ownership of the design and construction of educational facility projects funded by local bonds and state-matching programs. This role oversees 6 to 8 concurrent projects ranging from $2 million to $30 million each. You'll lead all phases of construction project delivery-from design coordination and phasing to issue resolution, change order tracking, and close-out-with a focus on quality, budget, and schedule adherence. Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and/or construction of 6-8 capital improvement projects simultaneously. Coordinate with end-users, architects, and stakeholders to develop and execute phasing and swing space plans. Resolve construction-related issues with contractors, inspectors, DSA, and other authorities while maintaining budget and schedule. Prepare, review, and revise project documents, including phasing, site logistics, and summary of work. Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain updates in the bond program risk register. Collaborate with the Relocation Project Manager to align FF&E, surplus asset handling, and staff relocation efforts. Present clear, concise project updates and data to multiple stakeholder groups. Evaluate, process, and track change orders and professional services requests in compliance with SOPs. Perform constructability reviews and QA/QC across all phases from programming to construction documents. Manage DSA and financial project closeout processes. Utilize web-based project management tools and reporting software. Perform other project management duties as assigned in collaboration with the PMO. QualificationsMinimum Requirements: 5 years of experience managing design and construction projects within large capital improvement programs. BA or BS in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or closely related field (or equivalent experience). Familiarity with Public Codes and project lifecycle processes. Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and leadership abilities. Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in educational facility construction. Experience with BIM, LEED, or CHPS projects. Experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., design-build). Familiarity with Division of State Architect (DSA) design and construction processes. Experience with web-based project management tools (e.g., Proliance). Formal partnering and stakeholder engagement experience. Professional licensure as a California Architect or Professional Engineer is highly desirable.
