Must Haves: Must have CCNA/CCNP Python or scripting language will be a plus as it will help with transformations This is a Hands-On role - Design, Configure, Troubleshooting Description: The Telecom Network Operations team is seeking to fill the Sr. Network Engineer - Switching & Network Operations position, which emphasizes enterprise switching infrastructure, operational stability, lifecycle management, and service reliability. This role supports the Experience (DX) business units, including Parks, Resorts, and corporate environments. In this position, the candidate will design, implement, and manage/support a robust global network infrastructure that delivers LAN, MAN, WAN, Internet, Wi-Fi, and voice services. This role reports to the Manager, GNEO Telecom Operations. Responsibilities: • Support the operational health, performance, and stability of enterprise switching environments. • Design, deploy, and maintain Layer 2/Layer 3 architectures across core, distribution, and access layers. • Participate in technical escalation and assist with root cause analysis for switching-related incidents. • Implement and maintain switching standards, including VLAN design, trunking, STP, MLAG/vPC, VRFs, QoS, and segmentation. • Assist with hardware lifecycle planning, firmware compliance, and EOS/EOL refresh activities. • Develop and maintain technical documentation to support design and operational processes. • Execute network implementations on time and within scope, escalating risks as needed. • Perform capacity analysis and support bandwidth growth initiatives. • Validate configurations and coordinate with third-party implementation partners. • Collaborate with security, wireless, cloud, and architecture teams to ensure integrated solutions. • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance reliability and reduce MTTR. • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for network support. • Utilize and optimize Logic Monitor to monitor enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring visibility into health and performance metrics. • Manage and optimize incident, problem, and change management workflows within ServiceNow. • Drive the continuous integration and deployment of network services by transforming manual configurations into automated, code-driven NetDevOps workflows. Basic Qualifications: • 8 years of experience in enterprise network environments supporting 24x7 operations. • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise switching (Layer 2 & Layer 3). • Working knowledge of LAN/MAN/WAN topologies and platforms, routing protocols, DNS/DHCP, IPAM, multicast, VRF, QoS, and segmentation concepts. • Foundational scripting or automation experience (Python or comparable tools) preferred. • Experience supporting multi-site enterprise environments. • Knowledge of STP, VRFs, multicast, QoS, high-availability protocols (HSRP/VRRP), and network segmentation. • Experience participating in incident response and remediation activities. • Industry certifications such as CCNA or CCNP preferred. • Familiar with standard monitoring protocols, including SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, and more. Preferred Education & Certifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). • Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, LMCP, Aruba, Palo Alto, Infoblox, F5, etc.). • Training or exposure to Incident Management or structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., Kepner-Tregoe).
