Description Under the direction of the Director of Operations, be responsible for material management and EDI inter-phase activities by utilizing knowledge of product technology, production control methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines, equipment and personnel. 1.Adherence to lean manufacturing and material flow principles such as FIFO, replenishment frequency analysis and maintenance, the use of water spiders, shopping markets, 5S, capacity planning, etc. to meet annual goals and objectives. 2.Ability to develop and enforce written policies and procedures. 3.Ability to analyze and compile data. 4.Ability to develop and manage MRP and production schedules. 5.Knowledge of automotive / manufacturing industries. 6.Knowledge of quality assurance standards such as ISO, IATFand ensure support of compliance within Materials and Logistics. 7.General knowledge of facilities planning and utilization. 8.Work jointly with Dir of Ops to evaluate quotes, services, and performances to support optimum sourcing decisions. Requirements Position Duties: 1. Interviews, hires, supervises and ensures personnel are developed consistent with our mission statement. 2. Conducts and reviews performance appraisals for assigned personnel and other non-direct reports. 3. Continuously improve on customer satisfaction through schedule attainment improvements, eliminating delinquencies in on-time delivery, and continuing to improve quality to meet annual goals. 4. Determine elements necessary to fulfill component needs. 5. Responsible for identifying lean material flow continuous improvement targets, developing strategies to meet annual goals and execution of strategic plans. 6. Responsible for adherence to lean manufacturing and material flow principles such as FIFO, replenishment frequency analysis and maintenance, the use of water spiders, shopping markets, 5S, capacity planning, level loading, etc. to meet annual goals and objectives. 7. Lead a materials team that will maintain a high accuracy in MRP, EDI, ASN data in computer system (input and issuance from inventory, from pre-production through end of life, etc.) 8. Lead a materials team to ensure Customer demand forecasts have high accuracy while ensuring supply-base, commercial, operations and Executive Leadership are fully informed. 9. Lead Production Control to create Production planning and scheduling that meets Customer demands daily and plant operational goals. 10. Research and maintain current information regarding market conditions, delivery options, and other factors impacting supply chain performance. Develop/implement solutions in a timely manner. 11. Ensure compliance of terms and conditions with vendors in regard to delivery, quality, and associated factors to achieve the greatest benefit to the organization. 12. Maintains and develops strong vendor relationships in order to ensure delivery to ongoing commitments. 13. Manages user administration of MRP/ERP system in conjunction with the Director of Operations. Maintains integrity of system data, and provides ongoing analysis of data in order to determine whether corrective action is needed. Review and maintain transactions and reports in order to achieve and maintain customer satisfaction. 14. Utilizes EDI in order to ensure proper flow of inbound and outbound inventory and product. Coordinates all aspects of inventory control, including proper materials flow, cycle counts, shipping/receiving, and supervision of materials department staff. 15. Develops policies and procedures for Materials Planning, ensures development, implementation, and monitoring of all appropriate reactionary measures. 16. Actively participate in launch and change process reviews and assist with implementation. 17. Develop long-and short-term planning for materials management in conjunction with the Director of Operations in order to ensure continuous supply chain management and achieve appropriate goals. 18. Supervise and coordinate all key activities of the materials department organization. 19. Coordinates with other departments in order to ensure resolution of discrepancies related to all purchasing and materials management issues. 20. Performs all duties to the standards established by the organization and all applicable funding sources and regulatory bodies. 21. Maintain inventory accuracy and warehouse management for receiving, WIP, and shipping. 22. Lead physical inventory planning, execution, and follow-up on annual basis and as needed. 23. All other duties as assigned.
