Electrical Counter SpecialistLocation: Walnut Creek, CA Pay Range: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM Position Summary Our customer has an exciting opportunity come available! They are in need of a Counter Sales Specialist who is the "front line" of the operations, you will be technical partner to our customers. You will provide expert-level product advice, manage orders through their Epicor system, and ensure that every contractor and subcontractor walks away with exactly what they need for a successful job site. Key Responsibilities Assist walk-in and phone-in electrical contractors with technical questions regarding residential and commercial electrical systems (e.g., service upgrades, NEMA ratings, and wire sizing). Use Epicor (Prophet 21/Eclipse) or similar ERP systems to check multi-branch inventory, generate quotes, process sales orders, and manage "Will Call" tickets efficiently. Build long-term relationships with local subcontractors by anticipating their needs and offering "add-on" solutions (conduit, fittings, tools) to prevent them from making multiple trips. Accurately pull stock for immediate orders and coordinate with the warehouse for large-scale deliveries or special orders. Verify authorized buyers and ensure all pickups are logged against the correct Purchase Order (PO) or Job name. Process credit card and business check payments accurately within the ERP system. Apply sales tax exempt for clients with valid resale certificates on file. Coordinate "Will Call" staging and ensure orders are 100% accurate before the contractor leaves the counter to minimize job site downtime. Deliver a consultative sales experience that builds loyalty, focusing on accuracy, speed, and technical reliability. Maintain a clean and organized counter area; assist in restocking and identifying inventory discrepancies to ensure system accuracy. Required Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the electrical trade or electrical wholesale. A plus to know manufacturers (Square D, Eaton, Siemens, etc.) and electrical components by sight or spec. Candidates with experience in similar systems (Infor, SAP, or Sage) will be considered. Ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced "morning rushes" with a professional and helpful demeanor. Customer Service is paramount! Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs (moving coils of wire or sub-panels).
