A school-based contract position is available for an Assistive Technology Specialist in Beaverton, OR. This role focuses on supporting students with assistive technology needs to enhance their learning experiences and ensure accessibility within the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Assess students' assistive technology requirements and recommend appropriate tools and devices. Collaborate with the LEEP Program team to integrate assistive technology strategies into individualized education plans (IEPs). Provide training and ongoing support to students, teachers, and staff on the effective use of assistive technology. Coordinate communication and planning with program coordinators and specialists to ensure cohesive service delivery. Monitor and troubleshoot assistive technology equipment to maintain functionality. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of technology-based accommodations. Qualifications: Experience working with assistive technology in educational settings. Knowledge of current assistive technology devices and software. Ability to assess and interpret students' needs related to technology accessibility. Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, students, and program staff. Familiarity with individualized education plans and related educational programs. Detail-oriented and proactive in addressing technology challenges.
