Job Type Full-time Description Pre-Service Center Specialist Department: Finance Status Hours: Full-time, 72 hours bi-weekly Shift: 1st shift Job Summary: Fulton County Health Center is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pre-Service Center Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients by pre-registering and scheduling their upcoming tests or procedures. The Pre-Service Center Specialist communicates with patients over the phone to verify insurance coverage, assess benefits, and complete pre-registration at least 10 days prior to their service date. Key Responsibilities: Contact patients via phone to pre-register and schedule tests or procedures. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, ensuring compliance with financial clearance policies. Complete patient pre-registration and scheduling at least 10 days before service. Screen patients for financial clearance eligibility and address any questions or concerns. Maintain a positive, professional, and compassionate attitude when interacting with patients and their representatives. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate scheduling and data entry. Handle patient information with strict confidentiality and attention to detail. RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED. Completion of Medical Terminology coursework. Minimum six months of experience in a medical office setting; one year of experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and Meditech Expanse registration and scheduling modules. Exceptional phone etiquette and customer service skills. Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with patients, their families, staff, and the general public. Efficient multitasking and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Associate degree or certification as a Medical Assistant, or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), and/or successful completion of the FCHC Registration Certification preferred. Experience in patient scheduling, registration, and financial clearance processes.
