Position Type: Administration Date Posted: 3/1/2026 Location: Teaching & Learning Job Title: Student Information Systems Analyst Exemption Status/Test: Exempt/Professional Date Revised: 2/17/2026 Dept./School: Teaching & Learning Primary Purpose: Serves as the main contact for the district-wide student information system (Skyward). This position is responsible for setting up, testing, analyzing, and maintaining the Student Information System application in support of the achievement of the goals of Splendora ISD. This includes, but is not limited to yearly roll-overs, setup of schools, courses, students, schedules, etc., and extensive data mining with queries and other tools as well as assistance with the design and delivery of reports. Qualifications:Education/Certification: HS Diploma Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, data analysis, mathematics, or a related field preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills: Advanced Knowledge of Skyward Student Information System Ability to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance skills Working knowledge of database query logic and relational databases Experience with primary data collection tools Knowledge of the Texas Public Information Act (TPIA) Knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Knowledge of fundamental principles of data analysis, including statistical and mathematical computations and measurements. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: 3 years of work experience in Texas Student Information Systems (Skyward preferred). Major Responsibilities and Duties: Data Analysis and Reporting Performs all operations necessary to maintain and/or improve and increase the functionality of the Student Information System, including but not limited to the setup of school sites, courses, calendars, copying and re-entering yearly setup information, yearly roll-overs, schedules, attendance codes, bell schedules, inactive staff, building new staff accounts, and add permissions.. Primary Contact for all SIS Inquiries. Field incoming help requests from end users via telephone, e-mail, and work orders. Build rapport with the user community to understand their problems, develop procedures and structures to solve the problems, and instruct users on how to use these to find the solution. Develop and maintain a complete understanding between the user interface and the database tables and fields in the background. Perform post-resolution follow-ups with users. Evaluate the resolutions and analyze trends for help in preventing future problems. Perform training for all district employees, including, but not limited to, administrators, teachers, and support staff. Supervise Student Information data for accuracy. (At-Risk, Gifted and Talented, Title I, Special Education, BIL/LEP, Discipline, Career and Technology, Leaver, Econ Disadvantage, ESY/OEYP Services and Attendance) Analyze and interpret data and provide clear and concise narrative and graphic explanations of data and trends. Learn and understand data and reporting requirements as determined by local, state, or federal needs. Use appropriate software packages for project needs, including (identify specific type required). Determine security concerns for data when involved with entry, reporting, or extraction of data. Provide support to users for assigned systems within the student information system as well as assigned third party packages. Assist users with investigating any data abnormalities. Work within project guidelines and time constraints. Assist supervisors and/or other departmental staff with the coordination of data requests and assessment information. Assist supervisors and departmental staff in the preparation of reports for presentation to district staff and leadership, and the school board, as requested. Prioritize and schedule your own work based on competing demands of multiple projects. Anticipate data needs. Maintain and refine systems to log, organize, and process external research requests. Policy, Reports, and Law 1. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of information management and technology. 2. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required. 3. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Other 1. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. 2. All other duties assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) Environment: Work is performed in an office setting; may require irregular and/or prolonged hours Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress Other Information: The District contributes $330 monthly to the cost of the employee-only health insurance, which is $105 more than the state-required amount of $225/month. All employees in this position receive free treatment at any Next Level Urgent Care. Position Type: Full-Time Contract/Days: 12-month/223 days Pay Grade: 101 Minimum: $60,948 Midpoint: $74,326 Salary determined by job-like experience.
