Reports To: Building Administrator Description: The district is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a CTE Health Science instructor in the Utica High School HHS - Health and Human Services program. Qualifications: Possess a valid CTE Michigan teaching certificate which allows the holder to instruct courses under CIP 51.0000 or 4000 industry related hours in an emergency medicine, emergency medical technician, sport medicine, nursing, physical therapist or medical practitioner and be willing to enroll in, and complete, a CTE program of work leading to endorsement. Successful prior experience utilizing technology to deliver engaging instruction. Successful experience working with/instructing secondary students preferred. Applicants must possess strong interpersonal skills and a strong desire to promote student success. ATTRIBUTES: Provide high quality instruction that supports and aligns to the district's educational vision and mission. Facilitate an environment that fosters the learning of all students. Remain knowledgeable of educational standards and strategies to meet the academic, developmental and social emotional needs of students. Assess and modify instructional practice leading toward increased student achievement. Utilize educational technology to support student's instruction and learning. Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with students, peers, parents and community. Willingness to engage students in a project-based learning environment. Applicants possess an out of the box type thinking style. Applicant is comfortable and willing to learn and teach electronics, robotics, and programmable logic controllers. Willingness to engage in all aspects of the assignment including but not limited to live instruction, student support and mentoring. Willingness to participate in targeted professional development and apply new knowledge, innovative instructional approaches, and district-approved platforms. Applicant must possess strong instructional skills and be able to transfer those skills to students. Applicant must possess strong technology skills. Applicant must possess desire and familiarity with addressing the social and emotional needs of the learners. Applicant must recognize and embrace the assignment as part of the district professional team.
